If u dont want a stamp, the yehood will stamp a seperate slip of paper for you that you keep with your passport…..Ill leave it to someone else to tell u the best way to get there….
from amman take a taxi to the Alenby bridge border, ask for your stamp on a piece of paper and do not lose it, from alenby its about 1/2 an hour to Jerusalem take a cab from the border always one there but you will have to change a couple of times before you get to your destination or walk for 2 k’s and catch the local busses that run the dead sea route to Eilat, great country loads to see have a nice time Jordan is also, the place to visit is Petra do not miss, need any more info go to my web site, worked in all three countries.
Why would you want to avoid the stamp? Its your visa, which means you are legal to stay there…I dont see a problem with the stamp, as long as your intentions are good.

You should ask a cab driver, usually they know the best and fastest ways to get to Jerusalem.

They have maps in the tourist area, that can be helpful if you purchase one.
