Have a look at the Jordanian tourist website. Join tours do not travel alone. You may get unwelcome attention if you do.

you’ll be fine on your own….take a group taxi south to petra & stay overnight. petra can take 2 days…farther south is wadi rum & aquba for diving/beaches….
south of amman on the kings highway is a well preserved old roman castle & if you go a little farther north over the syrian border is bosra w/ the best preserved roman ampitheatre in the world!!!!!
of course, you can also sightsee in amman while you’re there…have fun!!
